Starlingstar deeply appreciated the way Whitepaw actively listened to her story, and watched the emotions cross his face in response. Many cats didn't care enough to truly listen, and tuned out many important things, and this made her appreciate the young cat even more. She was thankful again that she had taken the time this morning to encourage him, and was even more certain in her resolve to bring him out here to the pond again. His words deeply affected her, and she knew it was written on her face.
"Thank you, Whitepaw, that truly means a lot to me." She could tell that he meant it, and that it wasn't just something he thought she'd want to hear. She did her best, and though she knew there were areas she could definitely improve upon, she knew she wasn't the worst leader out there. She cared for her Clan deeply, and wanted the best for them, and she hoped that was enough for now.
The short-furred she-cat felt the some of the chill on her damp fur too, and rose to her paws with him. "I'll head back with you." She smiled warmly again at the young tom, who had made her morning very bright indeed. "And of course this isn't your last time. Whenever you're ready to come back, just let me know. Like I said, I'll be here nearly every morning anyway, and I'll be happy to bring you with me." She stretched her long paws out in front of her, before moving to stand next to him in case he needed the support she was happy to provide. "Now lets head back. Hopefully a long lay in the sun will dry you up quick!" The humor sparkled in her eyes as she flicked him once more with her tail, ready to start the short trip back.
